Lo stato attuale del modern: Decklists del GP Brisbane

Come saprete il 6 ottobre c'è stato il GP Brisbane dove è emerso come trinfatore un affinity: l'unico mazzo ancora in grado di competere con la forza del Jund e del Junk e le sinergie del Tron e del Pod.

La presenza di carte forse troppo forti come il Dark Confidant, il Tarmogoyf e il Deathrite Shaman fanno sì che è davvero difficile impostare un mazzo aggressivo che possa fare a meno di queste carte, polarizzando così il formato in maniera indelebile.

Va notato come dell'originale Affinity tra ban e obsolescenza sia rimasto ben poco (una sola carta con Affinità!), forse sarebbe ora di cambiare nome del mazzo :-)

Passando al Junk di Dan Unwin vediamo che l'uso del bianco come appoggio è ridotto al minimo, contando su un uso massiccio del Verde e del Nero e sulle carte appena citate:

Unwin ha sostituito alcuni Abrupt Decay con Maelstrom Pulse, un trend che sta diventando sempre più comune contro carte ad alto costo di mana e/o tokens.

Notare come nonostante Fracturing Gust e Stony Silence abbia perso in finale contro Affinity...nonostante i ban e l'hate non va mai sottovalutato.

Un altro modo per sfruttare le carte più forti del formato è il Jund che riempie il vuoto lasciato da Bloodbraid Elf con Huntmaster of the Fells, Thundermaw Hellkite e Olivia Voldaren. Meglio Lingering Souls o Lightning Bolt?

Interessante vedere come nonostante Ancient Grudge a Path to Exile, Affinity abbia vinto lo stesso, per cui aspettatevene molti ai PTQ visto anche il costo contenuto e non sottovalutatelo mai, nonostante ban, hate e gli anni continua a vincere sempre...

Sembra che questo Modern premi quindi mazzi combo e Midrange tagliando fuori sia strategie controllose che aggro zoo style, eccetto Affinity che comunque è un tipo di mazzo molto particolare che non definirei Aggro puro.

Secondo me il Deathrite Shaman dovrebbe essere bannato! Siete d'accordo?
